um this is humorous. but in your best interest not to piss of your wife just forget the pie. and for god's sake don't eat it and not tell her. just get rid of the weights, shell be happier if you get some money for them too. but forget the pie-it'll only cause trouble one way or the other.

If you think the pie is safe then I'd go for it. I'd tell your wife because if she found out that you were keeping a secret, any secret it could be much worse. My husband worked w/ a woman who brought soup to work for him, she was also trying to sleep with him. I didn't have a problem w/ him eating the soup and she wanted him. If you were my husband I'd ask you if the pie was good then get a laugh out of the fact that you sold your weights for pie and let i go at that.

You may be walking a fine line. Let the woman know that it is not a wise business decision to accept a pie for weights. Tell her is makes more economical sense to donate the weight set and take the tax deduction. You avoid hurting her feelings and don’t have to worry about explaining a pie to your wife, who would take it so well. If you thought it was a good idea, you wouldn’t have asked the question. Your gut was right.

wow this is to funny.... eating another woman's homemade pot pie isn't cheating but I don't think you should hide it from your wife and now days I think you would be brave to eat food that a stranger on craigslist is making you... you know there were some craiglist kidnappings not to long ago so... I think you might want to listen to your wife and not eat the pie and see if you could maybe get something else for your weights....

Where I come from, it is a breach of etiquette to bake something (whether it be baked goods, pies, home cooked meals, etc) for another woman's husband.

That being said, this is in exchange for something -- not a gift. I say no big deal. Tell her about it and share it with her.

In some parts of the country, that would be worse than having sex with the other woman.

Does your wife have any Pennsylvania Dutch heritage? If so, don't do it.

Tell your wife. If my husband did that I would find it hilarious. Some women are insecure and jealous about stuff like this though, but if you do and don't tell her and she finds out later, she might think there is more to the story than there is.

Go through the deal. and throw away the pie and consider it. A chock it up to experience.

You learned something.

Don't tell the wife. Why would you. There's no need.

OMG Hahahahaha! You would HAVE to be a married man to think up a scheme like this. I for one would be PISSED to hear my husband ate another woman's cooking without knowing about it. I would also be pissed that he would accept a potpie for wts., it's strange! you COULD get a little money for them. Why not try CL again?

And pot pie, really? Why not something better like cherry pie? Does your wife not cook or something? You just desperate for home cooked meals?

I used to exchange baked cookies for assistance from a co-worker of my husband. He was a young single guy. Helped us move, watched our animals, drove us to the airport, etc.... My husband knew all about it though.

This is the best Craigslist success story I have ever heard!

Don't tell your wife. Take it to work and share it with the guys. I say this because of the flack you will get that you already mentioned

Weird story!

Do the exchange at her office and enjoy the pot pie without telling your wife. It's only lunch!

yeah, it's not cheating but it's kinda disrespectful.

you *are* getting ripped off, pies are what, $8.00? I am the master of all pies but I wouldn't go giving one to a married man... it's... distasteful. stranger or potential friend. Just like she shouldn't except a car servicing from some new potential acquaintance in exchange for her old designer sheet set. ;) (behind your back, none the less)

tell the woman you thought twice about it and you aren't going to except the pie, and many apologies, thanks so much anyways, hope you're not too disappointed. (she shouldn't mind.)

whoever is telling you to tell the woman you can't because your wife is paranoid... that would just be rude. the reason you can't, is because you respect your wife in a potentially (even if accidentally) disrespectful situation, and don't want to take a chance with that.

in your heart you knew the answer, since you asked in the first place.

Just take the dang' pot pie! It's probably not try to poison it, and your not cheating on her. Like I wouldn't care if my boyfriend did that. I mean if she really freaks out about a POT PIE, than you guys/your wife have some issues. Don't act sneaky, or drop off the weights at the woman's office just have her stop by, while your wife is there. That way she won't think anything of it.

Take Care,

Bartering weights for a pie is not cheating. If I was your wife , I'd laugh myself silly over this as you do seem to be getting the worse part of the deal....but you DID say you'd trade the weights for anything!

You already know the right thing to do.

But I will spell it out for you...

Drop off the weights and be done with it.

Believe me, a homemade pie is not worth the risk of hurting your relationship with your wife.

you know your wife better than any of us do!!!! if you think she can handle the truth, then tell her. if not, and she's extremely paranoid then don't tell her. you can always take your wife with you, to pick the pie up, or resend the offer altogether!

sometimes, pie isn't worth the hassle!!! it's has been known to cause some serious problems, between couples!!! lol!

It's not cheating, but there is NO REASON to not tell your wife about it either.

It is strange, I won't lie, but there are a lot of strange things out there. Who cares if you just want to get rid of them, and all you get is a pot pie, that's your call. Offer to share it with your wife.

I'm sure you will both laugh about it while telling the story to friends and family later on!!

eat the pie, dont tell the wife... I wonder, the kind of pie eating she has in mind might make the wife mad! What's next, selling his 70's stereo for a fur burger?

Your wife shouldn't be so paranoid. Why don't you just tell her by saying "I posted these on craigslist and someone responded offering a pie." just so she isn't surprised later.

Must be some good pie to consider it cheating.
2009-06-17 16:45:59 UTC
NO hope she makes a good pot pie. That actually sounds good right now.

Keep getting food from other women until your wife is sooo jealous she starts banging you again.
